successful candidate will be required to submit evidence (either
skin test or X-ray report) of being free of tuberculosis within the
past sixty (60) days. The TB test is a condition of employment and

all employees working for community colleges in the State of
California are required to be fingerprinted within the first ten
(10) working days of the date of employment pursuant to Education

hrs/week 12 months/yearCompensation: Salary Range: $112,034 -
$140,043/yr - The maximum salary placement is Step 3 depending on
experience.Job Description Summary:This position is grant-funded.
Continued employment is contingent upon refunding of the position.
Under the direction of the Vice President of Instruction, the
Director will implement a comprehensive plan addressing the career
and technical education (CTE) and workforce development needs of
students, the College, and the community. This will include
providing leadership in developing and responding to workforce and
economic development opportunities and developing partnerships and
collaborations with business and industry, education, government,
and the community.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAny one position may not

this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

- Directs college's career and technical education programs.
- Administers and manages CTE funds, including Carl Perkins,
Strong Workforce Programs (SWP) and California Apprenticeship
Initiative (CAI) in compliance with Federal and State
regulations.
- Supervises and ensures accurate and timely completion of all
CTE grant and activity reporting.
- Collaborates with division deans and faculty to identify,
secure, and oversee strategic grants to support career and
technical education instructional pathways.
- Supports CTE faculty efforts to develop and sustain
revenue-generating fee/non-fee courses, certificates, and degree
programs.
- Develops and sustains partnerships with LEAs in the college's
service area.
- Supports student success through dynamic partnerships with
local Workforce Investment Boards, human service agencies,
community-based organizations, and the college's existing student
support services.
- Participates in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of
classified staff supporting Career and Technical Education
initiatives.
- Assists in the recruitment of students for the college.
- Works with CTE Program Advisory Committees, workforce
development boards, adult education consortiums, and other industry
organizations to gain support for programs and ongoing input on
curriculum.
- Performs other related duties as required.Minimum
Qualifications
- Possession of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or
university.
- One year of formal training, internship or leadership
experience reasonably related to the administrator's
assignment.
- Knowledge and proficiency in the operation and use of personal
computers utilizing office productivity software applications.
- Understanding of, sensitivity to and respect for the diverse
academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic
backgrounds of Peralta Colleges' students, faculty, staff and
community.Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, such as Title 5 and
Education Code.
- Skill in budget development, maintenance, and reporting.
- Two (2) years of comprehensive and increasingly responsible
management experience in career technical education, instruction,
or a related field.
- Skill in oral and written communication, including public
speaking and complex reports.
- Skill in training, directing, supervising and evaluating the
work of others.
- Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer software and
databases.
- Commitment to Shared Governance.
- Effective organizational, communication and public relations
skills.Other RequirementsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe position requires
prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning,
kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of
