Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVICU - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 06/30/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse – CVICU (Travel Assignment) Location: Reno, NV Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (3x12s) Duration:13 weeks Compensation: Weekly Gross: $3,056.00 Per week On W2(Taxable): $900.00 Per Week ($22/hour) Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,156.00 Per Week Per week Job Summary: We are seeking two experienced CVICU Registered Nurses for a 13-week travel contract at Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center. The ideal candidates will have strong post-operative Day 0 open heart experience and expertise with IABP and Impella devices. This is a high-acuity, fast-paced critical care environment requiring strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care in the CVICU, managing complex cardiovascular cases. Monitor and manage patients post-open-heart surgery, including those with IABP and Impella support. Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic monitoring. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes. Delegate tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment. Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience. Experience with Open Heart - Post Op Day 0, IABP, and Impella – Required. Current RN license valid in the state of Nevada. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications – Required. Strong organizational, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
