LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty:Med Surg - Discipline:RN - Duration:13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift:12 hours, nights - Employment Type:Travel Job Title:Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Location:Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV 26003 Contract Length:13 Weeks Shift Details: - Nights (12-hour shifts: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) - Weekends and holidays as scheduled - Every other weekend requirement (Fri/Sat nights) - Schedule released in 6-week blocks with up to 6 requested days off per block Unit Information: - Unit: 4th Floor Med Surg (Cost Center 6090) - Beds: 52 private rooms - Ratios: 1:6–7 (typically 1:7) - Charting System: Allscripts Sunrise - Common Diagnoses: Ortho post-ops, basic neuro post-ops (laminectomies, discectomies, spinal fusions), general post-ops (gallbladders, mastectomies, sleeve gastrectomies), infections, COPD, CP, pneumonia, cellulitis, peritoneal dialysis (preferred experience) Team & Support: - Charge Nurse takes patient assignment - CNAs: 4–6 per shift (1:10–12 ratio) - IV Team in-house 24/7 (RNs assess, IV team places lines) - RT and Pharmacy in-house 24/7 - Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage 24/7 - Residents in-house 24/7 Procedures & Equipment: - Drips: Heparin, occasional Lasix (not continuous), PCAs (MSO4), Ativan (rare) - Respiratory: Bipap (intermittent), Cpap, High Flow - No cardiac gtts or insulin drips - Telemetry: Remote monitoring, no strip reading required but experience is a plus Floating: - To other Med Surg or Med Surg/Oncology units as needed - May float to IMC but will receive Med Surg overflow assignments Requirements: - Active RN License (will wait for license if needed) - Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience - BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required - ACLS a plus but not required - Must include an unexpired copy of the candidate’s driver’s license with submission Dress Code: - RNs: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), navy scrub jackets (no hoodies) - CNAs: Grey scrubs About LanceSoft Established in 2000, LanceSoft is a Certified MBE and Woman-Owned organization.
