Experience: 3 years of RN ICU experience License: CA RN License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience:
2 years - Experience in neuro intensive care unit - Charting system
experience required Description: This position involves caring for
critically ill patients in the ICU. RNs must be proficient and
comfortable with neuro patients. RNs may float to other units
within the scope of practice as needed. Flexibility to float to
different campuses or within the facility is required. Notice for
floating to different units will typically be provided 1.5 hours
prior to the shift start time. There is a shuttle service available
for staff who need to float. The daily census in the unit averages
12 patients. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory
services, and social services, among others. The unit contains 30
beds. Clinical skills required include administration and
management of various medical treatments and procedures. Experience
with multiple monitoring systems and protocols is essential. RNs
will manage ventilated patients and assist with various life-saving
interventions. It is necessary to interpret and manage cardiac
drips and provide emergency medications when required. All
candidates should provide a 7-year work history for verification.
