experienced Acute Care Manager to guide our Emergency Department,
Medical/Surgical Unit, and Swing Bed Program. This is an exciting

we’d love to meet you! Core Responsibilities: 1. Oversees nursing
activities in the Med/Surg and Swing Bed areas ensuring the
following: a. The Mission, Vision, and Values of CMC are
incorporated into all aspects of patient care and nursing b. Nurses
understand and focus their care around Virginia Henderson’s theory
of nursing practice, and that nurses and C.N.A.’s practice a Team
Nursing Model of patient care. c. Current standards of nursing
practice are followed at CMC and the Acute Care Manager is actively
involved in reviewing nursing standard updates and incorporating
them into CMC’s practice d. Coordinates daily scheduling and
staffing of the Med/Surg and Swing Bed units, assuring the patient
care delivered supports the mission and values of CMC. e. Assesses
the needs of the patient population, plans for those needs,
intervenes based on the assessment and planning process and
evaluates the outcomes and applies the clinical discipline of
professional nursing through the nursing process f. Assures Nurses
perform technical tasks and procedures safely and accurately g.
Assists with the organization of ongoing communication among all
health care providers and staff. Develops collaborative
relationships to enhance quality of service h. Maintains effective
communications i. Provides for optimal patient/resident safety j.
Respects patient's rights to privacy and dignity 2.
Accountability/Responsibilities include the following: a. Maintains
24/7 accountability for the Emergency, Med/Surg and Swing Bed Units
and recognizes need to respond to the facility (during off hours)
in person as needed for increased census, acuity or mentoring. b.
Coverage for CNO when out of the office due to illness, PTO, or
other absence. c. Must be physically and mentally able to work
extended hours when necessary. d. Attends meetings as required and
relays information back to the Med/Surg and Swing Bed nursing teams
e. Reports situations to the CNO as appropriate f. Acute Care
Mentorship Emergency Services including Trauma, STEMI, Stroke, and
etc. Hourly Rounding Acuity rating/staff ratios Bedside Report
Bedside Charting Updated Communication Boards Weights/Vital signs
per order edside care/Shift coverage as needed for call-ins,
increased census, etc. Narcotic Counts completion on Wednesday
Telemetry strips/interpretation per policy with Tele Tech and
Med/Surg RN Charge Reconciliation Medical Record review for
completion/quality Facilitate and ensure outdates/stocking/daily
checklist/organization completion g. Monthly Policy/Procedure
review/update Schedule KPI for med scanning Quality Measures (Pain
scores, med scanning, etc.) Annual evaluations of RN’s, C.N.A.s and
Techs Regularly scheduled (at least quarterly) Staff Meetings. 3.
Demonstrates professionalism and professional nursing practice
through: a. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by
attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
publications; establishing personal networks; participating in
professional societies
