Registered Nurse (RN) | Infection Control Location: Fairfield, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,106 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 8 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: Infection Prevention Coordinator Profession: Infection Prevention Coordinator Specialty: - Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Full-Time Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 5 years of acute care experience and preferred at least 6 months experience in acute care infection prevention. License: Current RN licensure in the State of California. Certifications: Infection Control Certification preferred and must be obtained within 18 months of hire. Must-Have: - Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's degree preferred. - Working knowledge of healthcare practices, data management, patient care equipment, and products. - Excellent oral, written, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills. - Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. - Strong knowledge of infection prevention and epidemiology, TJC, Cal-OSHA, and CMS standards. - Course completion of APIC EPI 101 within 12 months of hire. Description: The Infection Prevention Coordinator (IPC) works both independently and collaboratively with leadership to provide service line support. The IPC acts as a resource for department personnel regarding Infection Prevention. The IPC serves as an infection control resource and ensures that projects align with regulations and hospital policies. This position participates in all aspects of the Infection Prevention Program, including surveillance, monitoring, prevention, and education. The IPC submits reports and reviews them in a timely manner. This role requires the ability to recognize when to escalate problems while applying excellent judgment in daily issues. The IPC works independently, utilizing initiative, judgment, critical thinking skills, and good team communication. Primary Job Duties: Creates a positive and collegial environment among department members and stakeholders. Collaborates with leadership for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Infection Prevention Program. Develops surveillance strategies for hospital-acquired and community-acquired infections. Creates record-keeping systems for surveillance activities and prepares statistical reports from collected data. Utilizes computer-based programs for tracking or reporting infection prevention data. Investigates potential infection hazards and recommends appropriate changes when necessary. Serves as a resource for infection prevention matters in collaboration with the medical director. Provides consultative support regarding infection prevention practice. Monitors regulatory and accreditation standards and proposes necessary program changes. Develops and maintains implementation of infection prevention policies and regulations. Participates in the establishment of performance improvement criteria and manages monitoring tools. Observes, investigates, and implements prevention measures when an outbreak of infections is noted. Influences the integration of infection prevention principles for patient care practices. Coordinates infection prevention education for patients diagnosed with communicable diseases. Collaborates with Occupational/Employee Health for communicable disease referrals and follow-up. Keeps current in the field of infection prevention through continuing education and professional involvement. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates behaviors that exemplify caring, communication, collaboration, and competence. Adheres to established policies and procedures while exhibiting defined characteristics associated with attendance and punctuality. Physical Effort: Attendance is essential for the job.
