Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with advanced knowledge in VMware and NSX (VCP-NV certification required) and a strong background in network design, implementation, and administration. The role involves maintaining the infrastructure's stability, optimizing performance, and ensuring security in a hybrid in-office environment. You must be local to Sacramento, CA; able to work onsite 2 days a week via hybrid schedule (transitioning to 4 days onsite starting July). Key Responsibilities: Network Architecture & Design:Design, implement, and maintain scalable network infrastructure to meet organizational needs.Develop custom solutions by leveraging VMware and NSX platforms.Network Administration:Configure and manage LAN/WAN connectivity, VLANs, firewalls, routers, and switches.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operation.Security Management:Proactively secure network systems and enforce compliance with company policy.Apply security patches and updates to hardware/software systems as needed.Project Leadership:Lead network-related projects, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within budget.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth project integration.Documentation & Reporting:Create and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Provide regular reports on network performance and incidents.Mentoring & Education:Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on networking best practices.Stay current with industry trends and certifications; recommend upgrades or technologies as required. Required Skills & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.At least 7 years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles.Extensive hands-on experience with VMware NSX, including design, deployment, and lifecycle management.Strong understanding of core networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VPN).Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills (mandatory).Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive resolution of conflicting requirements (mandatory).Deep knowledge of network security principles and tools.Preferred Qualifications: VMware Certified Professional - NSX (VCP-NV) or equivalent certification. Experience with VMware vSphere and other virtualization platforms.Familiarity with public cloud networking concepts, especially AWS.Working knowledge of automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their resume highlighting their VMware and NSX experience.
