Lead System Administrator (Linux & Cloud) - Direct-Hire/FTE -
Elk Grove, CA. Title: Lead System Administrator (Linux & Cloud)
Location: Elk Grove, CA - Hybrid with 3 days onsite per week
Duration: Direct Hire/FTE Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 base
15% Bonus Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized
to Work in the US Position Summary: The Lead Systems Administrator
will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the
ongoing operations of all infrastructure components of a hosted
datacenter, as well as the CLIENT presence in the GCP cloud.
Responsibilities include server provisioning and installations,
support and administration including: physical and virtual server
setup, OS installations, automation, advanced troubleshooting,
application level support and root cause analysis in both
on-premise (datacenter) and GCP environments. Position
Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned: Responsible for
the continued maintenance of systems including software
installation, patch application, file-system management,
performance monitoring and tuning and troubleshooting alerts from
commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools,
networking as related to datacenter and GCP operations of team
infrastructure and resources. Use Terraform and Gitlab to provision
and maintain IaaS resources within GCP. 24/7 production support
with participation in team on-call. Off-hours maintenance
activities as scheduled. Lead the Linux/Unix infrastructure support
team to meet operational goals and project timelines. Lead and/or
assist project teams with technical issues in all phases of
company's standards and best practices Understand the customer
needs and provide timely support for production issues. Propose
technical solutions based on production issues. Comply with change
control and release management policies and procedures. Weekly
reporting on defined metrics, project status and datacenter and GCP
infrastructure. Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or
B.S.) from four- year college or university in relevant field; or
equivalent work experience. 10 or more years of professional 24x7
systems maintenance experience in a Linux/Unix data center and/or
public cloud environment (GCP preferred). Strong
knowledge/understanding of ITIL support processes and
methodologies, incident management, change control management,
problem management. Experience with Agile SDLC a plus. Ability to
actively participate both technically and functionally within all
applications of service management: incident, problem, change,
asset, CMDB and, IT Operations Management. Demonstrated ability to
work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple
priorities. Linux & Cloud System Administration Experience Public
cloud experience preference 1) GCP 2) AWS 3) Azure 4) Any other
smaller vendors Linux experience Redhat or Ubuntu based Skills to
focus on Cloud management experience Terraform Need to have
practical production experience Git/Github/Gitlab Linux, Cloud and
IT certifications considered: Linux: RHCE, LFCS, LPIC-1 or
equivalent Cloud: GCP Cloud Engineer, AWS SysOps Admin or
