Job Description:
At Year Up, we are dedicated to closing the opportunity gap and
fostering upward mobility for young adults. We seek a passionate
Software Development Career Training Program Instructor to design
and deliver courses in software development, facilitating both
theoretical and hands-on learning. This role involves crafting a
dynamic learning environment that blends academic teaching with
real-world technical skills, tailored toward preparing students for
careers in technology. As an instructor, you will be at the
forefront of transforming lives and empowering students to achieve
their full potential through our structured one-year program.
Develop and revise curriculum and course materials that meet
educational standards. Deliver engaging classes and workshops on
software development, programming languages, and related tools.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to
encourage and guide them throughout the program. Collaborate with
industry professionals to continually integrate real-world
relevance into the curriculum. Mentor students on career paths,
interviewing skills, and workplace etiquette. Coordinate with the
administration to enhance program effectiveness based on feedback.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python,
JavaScript). Strong understanding of software development
principles and agile methodologies. Ability to convey complex
technical information in an easy-to-understand manner. Experience
with educational technology and remote teaching tools.
Certifications in relevant programming languages or developer tools
are advantageous.
