Job Description Job Description At Pershing General Hospital & Nursing Home , our mission is to be the first-choice provider for our community's health needs. We work tirelessly to provide excellent healthcare in our 13- bed critical access hospital. Pershing General Hospita l is looking to hire an Activities Assistant for our Acute Department. CNA License preferred but not required. Essential Functions: (Performance of these functions is the reason the job exists. Assigned jobs/duties are not limited to the essential functions). 1. Assists in the development and implementation of programs and activities which enrich the lives of our patients. 2. Develops and leads small, medium, and large group activities and in accordance with each patient's plan of care. 3. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments of the facility. 4. Conducts one-on-one programs such as delivering and reading mail as requested by the supervisor. 5. Works with and assists in work direction of volunteers. 6. Transports patients for outings and medical appointments as requested. 7. Proactively encourages and supports patients’ rights. 8. Prepares rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to each program and cleans up following each program. 9. Assists with the development of the monthly activities calendar including providing creative input, ideas, and suggestions for volunteer recruitment. 10. Maintains a safe activities environment by using appropriate risk management, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and storage. 11. Encourages patients and family participation in activities. 12. Assists Certified Activities Professional in evaluation of effectiveness of program, individual needs, and participation levels of each resident. 13. Transports patients to appointments and events/activities outside of Pershing General Hospital as requested. 14. Participates in department and hospital level quality assurance and process improvement initiatives. Required Certifications and Licenses: Nevada driver’s license or issuance within 30 days of date of hire. CNA license strongly preferred. BLS certification preferred.
